Client:
Bayswater Marina Maintenance Dredging.

Location:
Bayswater Marina Sir Peter Blake Parade,

                  Bayswater, Auckland.

CDC undertakes a regular maintenance-dredging programme at the Bayswater Marina complex on Auckland’s North Shore. Bayswater is one of Auckland’s newest marinas, housing upwards of 430 vessels at anyone time.
CDC consulted closely with marina management to ensure dredging was completed within the strict guidelines set down within the Environmental Resource Consent granted for the dredging programme for both the marina and the disposal dumpsite.
CDC deployed a Sumitomo SH240 LC super long reach excavator operating from the UB40 spud hopper barge. The Sumitomo unit is fitted with the latest generation 3D GPS digging aid system to ensure maximum efficiency during the dredge programme.
The Soundchem II, a 360cm3 capacity, 46m long self-propelled split hopper barge, transferred dredged material to the dump disposal area. The Soundchem vessel is one of three identical sister ships owned and operated by CDC in the southern hemisphere.
