Client:                   Georgiou Group.
Location:
Eastern Basin Berth 103 Port Kembla NSW Australia.

The Eastern Basin Berth 103 is located in the inner Harbour eastern basin at Port Kembla in NSW.
In second half of 2008 at the completion of the major construction phase of the project CDC was contracted by Georgiou Group NSW to provide a range of equipment to the Port Kembla operation. The fleet included spud hopper barges, super-long reach excavators and a Soundchem self-propelled spit hopper vessel that were deployed working around the clock for the duration of the dredging program.
The reclamation area and harbour was dredged to design levels using a backhoe dredges removing an estimated 85,000cm3 of material.
The excavator units were fitted with the latest in 3D GPS underwater digging aids to ensure the most effective dredging results. The excavator units loaded dredged martial into the spud hopper barges or directly into Soundchem for transport to the dump disposal area in the outer reaches of the Port Kembla harbour.
